Steve Rizzo is a widely recognised American motivational speaker, author and comedian, who is best known for his individual approach to motivational speaking and writing. A member of the National Speakers Association and having been inducted into the Council of Peers Award for Excellence Speaker Hall of Fame, Rizzo is a celebrated and respected speaker. Rizzo’s book, titled Becoming a Humour Being: The Power to Choose a Better Way, has received much critical acclaim since it was published and has been awarded with the Writer’s Digest International Self-Published Book Award.
Born in NYC, Rizzo studied English and Theatre Arts at Long Island University, before pursuing a career as an English teacher. Later, Rizzo ventured into comedy, initially performing at stand-up comedy clubs and various venues including the Pittsburgh Comedy Club and the Improv. Rizzo has featured on many television shows during his comedy career, including An Evening at the Improv, The Comedy Channel, Showtime Special and Fox TV’s Comic Strip Live.
Upon transitioning from a comedian to a motivational speaker, Rizzo soon has the realisation that his humour was the key to his success as a motivational figure. Using his talents from stand-up, he commanded the audience, using his humour to emphasise his authenticity too. Rizzo went on to sign with Five Star and his career as a speaker skyrocketed from there. Rizzo has been featured on MSNBC and Oprah and Friends radio network as a consultant and has appeared as a keynote speaker at esteemed events such as a National Association of Trailer Manufacturers event, an ISPA EXPO and Surf Summit 13 in Mexico.
