Steven D Patzer is a rising politician and Brooklyn community leader who stood as a candidate for New York City Council District 47. Although he eventually lost in the election, Patzer’s valuable work in his local community – such as working with CEO of the Brooklyn-based education provider @argoprep_k8 to donate free Zoom tutoring sessions for local students – has continued to make a massive difference to those who live in the area. Patzer previously worked as the president of Patzer Multimedia, LLC.
A Native Southern Brooklynite, Patzer is the son of a single mother who raised her two kids on her own after his father left when he was just 3 years old. His mother built a true sense of community in him as a child, and as he grew older her longer to continue this and began doing activism work raising money for autistic children by speaking in classes.
A born organiser, he then attended Kingsborough Community College where he began to get more involved in leadership activities. He became student body president by the time he graduated and also helped pass a referendum to put ¼ million dollars into student activities each year.
Patzer has remained in Southern Brooklyn, and since leaving college has focussed on improving the lives of families like the one he grew up with. Tired of hearing politicians not keep their promises he decided to run as a candidate for NYC Council District 47, and although he was unsuccessful on this occasion he continues to work tirelessly to improve the neighbourhood and community where he grew up.
