Suraj Sharma gained international acclaim with his critically praised debut in ‘Life of Pi’ and has since built a diverse career across film and television. After being selected from approximately 3,000 hopefuls for the lead role of Pi in Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed 2012 film Life of Pi, Suraj Sharma garnered international recognition for his compelling debut performance. The film went on to win four Academy Awards, with Sharma earning significant critical acclaim and industry accolades, including a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination in 2012. He further received the Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award for Youth in Film in 2012, an MTV Movie Award for Best Scared-As-Shit Performance in 2013, and a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in 2013.
More recently, Sharma joined the main cast of the How I Met Your Mother spin-off series, How I Met Your Father, portraying Sid from its premiere in 2022 through 2023. He also ventured into voice acting, lending his talent to animated series such as Pantheon and voicing Charuk in Star Wars: Visions in 2023. His latest film work includes starring as Aditya Batra in Gulmohar, released in 2023, reflecting his continuous engagement with compelling new projects in both film and television.
