Teyana Taylor is an internationally known R&B singer, actress, dancer and model from New York. Taylor is signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, through Def Jam, after being released from her record deal with Parrell Williams’ Star Trak Entertainment imprint label. She has released two studio albums with GOOD Music since signing to the Kanye West record label. She has appeared on television, starring in the VH1 reality television show, Teyana and Iman, and is a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew. An aspiring songwriter, she has worked with and written for high profile artists such as Usher and Chris Brown.
Taylor initially emerged onto the music scene in 2005, when she signed to Pharrell Williams record label Star Trak, and made an appearance on MTV’s popular show, My Super Sweet 16 in 2007. Taylor is an accomplished choreographer, proving herself in 2006 when she choreographed the music video for Beyonce’s hit single ‘Ring the Alarm’. Taylor’s debut single ‘Google Me’ peaked at No. 90 on the US Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, part of her debut mixtape titled From a Planet Called Harlem.
Taylor made her acting debut in 2010, starring in Stomp the Yard: Homecoming and since appeared on numerous television shows. Taylor featured on Kanye West’s fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, contributing vocals to the popular tracks ‘Dark Fantasy’ and ‘Hell of a Life’. In 2014, Taylor released her major-label debut album, titled VII, released through Def Jam and GOOD Music. The album was a great success, putting Taylor in the spotlight and peaking at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and selling 16,000 copies in the first week of release. Taylor has also appeared on Fashion Week runways and worked with prestigious brands such as Adidas, holding the record for the fastest selling sneakers in Adidas Original history.
