Thiago Moises

Thiago Moises, born on March 23, 1995, in Indaiatuba, Brazil, began his martial arts journey at eight years old, following in the footsteps of his professional MMA fighter father. He initially focused on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, achieving a black belt under Paulo Streckert and earning an IBJJF golden medal. Moises made his professional MMA debut in 2012 and quickly built a record of 5-1 before joining Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA). With RFA, he secured the lightweight championship, winning against David Castillo in 2016 with a helicopter armbar submission and successfully defending his title against Jamall Emmers and Zach Freeman.

His career advanced as RFA merged with LFC to form Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA). In 2017, Moises challenged for the inaugural LFA lightweight title, though he lost via unanimous decision. Undeterred, he continued to compete, earning a guillotine choke submission victory against Jeff Peterson in 2018. Later that year, Moises gained significant recognition by competing in Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil, where he earned a UFC contract after a first-round knockout victory over Gleidson Moraes.

Since his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut in November 2018, Moises has maintained his active status in the Lightweight division, building a record of 19 wins and 9 losses. Notable UFC victories include unanimous decisions over Kurt Holobaugh (2019), Bobby Green (2020), and Alexander Hernandez (2021). He secured submission wins against Michael Johnson (2020) via Achilles lock, Christos Giagos (2022) with a rear-naked choke, and Melquizael Costa (2023) using a face crank, earning him a “Performance of the Night” bonus. His fight against Benoît Saint-Denis in 2023 also earned him a “Fight of the Night” bonus. Moises continues to train at American Top Team, aiming for further achievements within the sport.
