Currently the richest British actress and female comedian, Tracey Ullman is a woman of many faces, being no stranger to impersonating anyone as she delivers outstanding performances every time. From her spot-on looks of those she impersonates to reproducing accents, Ullman has done it all, earning multiple accolades for her talents such as Golden Globe, American Comedy, and Emmy awards. Ullman started on British television in the 80s, playing Lisa Mackenzie in the TV series, Mackenzie. Holding dual British and American citizenships, Ullman began her television career in the United States in 1987 when she created the comedy series, The Tracey Ullman Show, for Fox network. The show even featured ‘The Simpsons’ and ran for four seasons, ending in 1990. With the success of the show, it won a total of 11 Emmy Awards.
In addition, Ullman produced an HBO comedy series, Tracey Takes On…, and continued her success by being featured on the big screen several times. Her first leading role in a film was in ‘I Love You to Death’ which was released in 1990. Adventurous and versatile, Ullman even trailblazed in the music industry with her debut album You Broke my Heart in 17 Places in 1983, and has six songs in the UK Top 100 in less than two years.
Outside of acting, Ullman enjoys knitting and has published a book about the subject in 2006, named Knit 2 Together: Patterns and Stories for Serious Knitting Fun with fellow knitter and friend Mel Clark. Today, Tracey Ullman stars in the FX limited series Mrs. America, portraying feminist author and activist Betty Friedan, and shows no signs of stopping there.
