Show-stopping Canadian drag artist Vivian Vanderpuss loves nothing better than to walk out on stage and make audiences gasp. The real drag deal, Vivian’s vivacious personality and glampy art have earned her two Fox Drag Competition titles, the Timothy Hung MakeUp Contest and a 5th place finish on Canada’s Drag Race Series 3, the sister series to RuPaul’s Drag Race. The Ru-girl’s cat-mom camp nearly earned her a place in the final, and the rising drag star created 100% of her incredible looks herself. The multi-talented diva has also lent her wig-styling skills to several other leading drag artists, including the iconic JIMBO.
Whether she’s MCing, performing live or just loving her cats, Vivian’s genuine spirit brings a smile to everyone around her, and the popular queen was named as having one of the 13 Top Instagram accounts by CBC.
Born Mackenzie Lemire in Kingsville, Ontario, Vivian had a slow progression into the world of drag, dressing up in all kinds of vintage clothing before realising women’s traditional clothing was the most fun to wear. After watching legendary drag artist Jinkx Monsoon’s documentary “Drag Becomes Him”, Vivian knew this was what she wanted to do too, and she began to explore the waters of gender expression and fluidity whilst also trying new characters.
After performing around Victoria for several years Vivian sashayed onto Series 3 of Canada’s Drag Race and became an instant fan favourite, using the platform to showcase her art as well as her story.
