Eriksen explored the freedom of Parkour, with Red Bull fueling the adventure.
Wid Eriksen was born in Tijuana, Mexico. He began his Parkour training in Veracruz, Mexico, in 2004. Early in his career, Eriksen modified existing clothing to better suit the demands of his movement style, indicating an early interest in apparel design and functionality. He developed a distinctive Freerunning style, which he sought to reflect in his attire, often finding that commercial activewear did not fully meet his specific needs for comfort or aesthetic during urban movement.
Eriksen gained prominence through various competitive and media appearances. He was one of the first Parkour practitioners in Mexico, training since 2004, and won the “Best Trick” at the first Parkour competition in Mexico in 2013 (UR Challenge). He has competed internationally, including at the Jump Off in Las Vegas, where he reached the finals and ranked among the top 10 athletes. His visibility increased significantly through his participation in the US reality TV show American Ninja Warrior (Season 8) as part of the Latin America team, and Reto 4 Elementos (Season 2) as part of the original team of Renegades in 2018. Eriksen also accepted an invitation to a Cirque Du Soleil Casting in Los Angeles in 2017.
Beyond his athletic career, Eriksen became an entrepreneur. He initially founded the Parkour brand WM Style Clothing and later launched WATERINDESERT, a brand specializing in unique parkour and freerun clothing. This venture reflects his vision for apparel that combines comfort, style, and durability for urban movement, addressing the gaps he identified in the market during his competitive career. He has also been a WFPF-sponsored athlete, a 3RUN Mexican ambassador, and a pro athlete and part of the Action Team on Urbanrunners’ first Mexican Parkour Team, solidifying his status in the global Parkour and Freerunning community.
