Will Chase

Will Chase has established a distinguished career across Broadway, television, and film, earning a Tony Nomination and critical acclaim for his versatile performances. After earning a 2013 Tony Award Nomination and an Outer Critics Circle Award Nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of John Jasper in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Will Chase established himself as a versatile force across Broadway, television, and film. His Broadway career launched with his debut in Rent in 1998, initially as an ensemble member and understudy before taking on the principal role of Roger, a performance later captured in Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway. He continued to build his extensive theatrical resume with roles in Miss Saigon, The Full Monty, Aida, and Lennon, and received three Joseph Jefferson Award nominations for his early regional theater work.

Chase successfully transitioned into television, becoming widely recognized for his role as country star Luke Wheeler on ABC’s Nashville, appearing in 57 episodes from 2013 to 2017. His television presence expanded with recurring appearances as Michael Swift on NBC’s Smash (2012–2013), Neil Hargrove on Netflix’s Stranger Things (2017–2019), and Bob Nash in HBO’s Sharp Objects (2018). He also portrayed Detective Paul Scrimshaw in FX’s American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace (2018), showcasing his range in dramatic roles. Further diversifying his acclaimed career, Chase delivered notable performances as Michael Friedman in Hulu’s Dopesick (2021) and opposite Tom Holland as Marlin Reid in the Apple TV+ limited series The Crowded Room (2023).
