Yasmin Ingham was born on May 13, 1997, and raised on the Isle of Man. Her equestrian journey began in her formative years as a member of the Isle of Man Pony Club, where she competed across various disciplines. Early in her career, she also participated in working hunter showing classes, qualifying for prestigious events such as the Royal International Horse Show and the Horse of the Year Show. Her talent in eventing quickly became evident, leading to her first team call-up in 2012 to compete as an individual at the Pony European Eventing Championships in Fontainebleau. The following year, in 2013, she achieved significant success at the European Championships in Arezzo, Italy, where she secured both individual and team gold medals. This early success established a foundation for her future achievements in the sport.
After completing her schooling at the age of 16, Ingham relocated to the mainland, specifically Cheshire, to train and ride for Eddie and Sue Davies and Janette Chinn at Pewit Stud. This move marked a turning point in her career, allowing her to further develop her skills and progress through the national ranks. She successively became the Under-18, Under-21, and Under-25 National Champion. A notable milestone during this period was her fourth-place finish at the Young Rider European Championships with Rehy DJ, where she finished on the same score as the bronze medalist but was narrowly edged out due to a slower showjumping time. Her consistent performance and upward trajectory demonstrated a clear path toward senior-level competition.
Ingham made her CCI5* debut at Pau in 2018 with Night Line, finishing 16th. Her career’s most significant achievement arrived in 2022 when, at just 25 years old, she won the individual gold medal at the FEI Eventing World Championship with Banzai du Loir. This performance positioned her among elite eventing riders. The same year, she and Banzai du Loir finished second at the CCI5* in Kentucky. In 2023, she continued her success by becoming the first British rider to win the CCI4*-S title at CHIO Aachen and contributed to the British team’s gold medal victory at the FEI Eventing European Championship. In 2024, Yasmin and Banzai were selected as travelling reserves for the Team GB eventing team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, further solidifying her standing in the sport.
