Yu Thandar Tin was born on March 6, 1991, in Labutta, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. She relocated to Yangon with her family in 2006. She pursued higher education, studying Civil Engineering at West Yangon Technological University for two years before transferring to Dagon University, where she earned a BA in English in 2015.
Her career in the entertainment industry commenced in 2009 when she joined John Lwin’s John International Modeling Agency. Her early years involved participation in numerous modeling competitions, runway events, and appearances on magazine covers. She also secured roles in commercial advertisements. In 2009, she placed as 1st runner-up in both the Miss Lorkrathong pageant and the Miss Now How pageant, where she also received the Miss Now How Popular Award. In 2010, she won the Miss Ngwe Saung title and was designated as the ambassador for Ngwesaung Beach.
Yu Thandar Tin transitioned into acting, initially through offers for TV and DVD commercials. Her film debut occurred in 2011 with “Nhait War Ta Ni,” followed by “Yet Lal” in 2013, which increased her recognition. Her first major big-screen role was in 2014 with the film “Aung Myin Kyaw Kyar Suesha Htet Myat,” released in 2015. She continued to act in successful films, including the comedy “Facebook Ywar” (2016) and its sequel “Facebook Ywar 2” (2017). Later, in 2019, she starred in the comedy-horror film “Thaye Thinbaw” (Ghost Ship), “Double Wedding,” and the commercially successful comedy film “Aung Twal Taw Sein Arr Thit.” Throughout her career, she has acted in over 150 films, solidifying her status as a prominent and successful figure in Myanmar’s entertainment industry.
