Yusuke Momochi is a decorated professional fighting game player who has achieved multiple championships in the Street Fighter series, transitioning from competitive play to developing new talent in Japan. After establishing himself as a top player in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike by 2007, Yusuke Momochi secured his first Super Battle Opera (SBO) title in 2009 with the game, followed by another SBO championship in 2010 for Street Fighter IV. His consistent performance led him to join the professional esports organization Evil Geniuses in 2011, where he continued to demonstrate his prowess by winning Seasons Beatings: Velocity in 2011 and achieving consecutive second-place finishes at CEO in both 2012 and 2013, solidifying his reputation in major North American tournaments. In 2014, Momochi made a pivotal move to Tokyo to pursue a full-time professional gaming career, marking a period of significant achievement.

That year, he won the South East Asia Major (SEAM) and claimed the prestigious Capcom Cup championship for Ultra Street Fighter IV. His dominance continued into 2015 when he won Evo 2015 for Ultra Street Fighter IV, becoming the first player in history to win both a Capcom Cup and an Evo title for the Street Fighter series. Following the release of Street Fighter V, Momochi, alongside ChocoBlanka, co-founded Shinobism in approximately 2016-2017, an organization dedicated to nurturing emerging talent within Japan’s competitive fighting game scene. He further proved his enduring skill by winning Evo Japan 2019 for Street Fighter V.

His consistent top-tier performances, combined with his dedication to talent development through Shinobism, underscore his significant and multifaceted impact on the global fighting game community, making him a highly respected figure and a cornerstone of the professional esports landscape.
