About

Yusuke “Momochi” Momochi, born February 12, 1986, is a Japanese professional fighting game player. He began his career in fighting games during elementary school, initially finding success in local arcades. By 2007, Momochi had established himself as a top player in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, securing his first Super Battle Opera (SBO) title in 2009. He followed this with another SBO title in 2010 for Street Fighter IV. In 2011, he joined Evil Geniuses, consistently placing in major North American tournaments, including winning Seasons Beatings: Velocity in 2011 and achieving consecutive second-place finishes at CEO in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, Momochi moved to Tokyo to pursue a full-time professional gaming career. This year marked significant achievements, including winning the South East Asia Major (SEAM) and claiming the Capcom Cup championship for Ultra Street Fighter IV. His success continued into 2015 when he won Evo 2015 for Ultra Street Fighter IV, becoming the first player to win both a Capcom Cup and Evo title for Street Fighter. Following the release of Street Fighter V, Momochi co-founded Shinobism with ChocoBlanka, an organization focused on nurturing young talent in Japan’s fighting game scene. He further demonstrated his skill by winning Evo Japan 2019 for Street Fighter V.

Throughout his career, Momochi has displayed adaptability by playing various characters across different Street Fighter titles, including Ken, Cody, Akuma, Juri, Decapre, and Evil Ryu. Despite considering retirement in the late 2010s, he continued to achieve significant victories, such as the Capcom Pro Tour’s Asia Premier in 2019. More recently, with the release of Street Fighter 6, Momochi has continued competing, showcasing his enduring presence and skill in the professional fighting game circuit, including a 4th place finish at Evo 2024 and 2nd place at Blink Respawn 2025.
