Yusuke Momochi is a professional fighting game player from Japan who specialises in the Street Fighter series by Capcom and is currently representing Victrix Pro. Also known simply as Momochi, he was the winner of the Capcom Cup 2014 championship, the Ultra Street Fighter IV EVO 2015 title and a Capcom Cup champion. Known for his calm and cool demeanour , he was also part of a team consisting of a trio of Japanese players – including himself, RF and Kindevu – that took home first place at the Street Fighter 4 2010 Super Battle Opera tournament.
Born in Nagoya, Japan, Momochi is a descendant of the Momochi ninja family of Iga. Following his win at the 2010 Super Battle Opera tournament he went on to earn second place at a final qualifier for EVO 2011, and signed with professional eSports team Evil Geniuses. The following year, he rose to prominence further after finishing 5th in the Street Fighter X Tekken and 3rd in the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v2012 at the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Grand Finals.
In 2014 Momochi won the Capcom Cup, dominating the competition and defeating Ho “Xian” Kun Xian in the Grand Finals. With his career winnings to date likely to reach a quarter of a million dollars, he has been a serious contender in every Topanga A League.
