About

Zoran Plohl, born on April 27, 1979, in Maribor, Slovenia, embarked on a distinguished career in DanceSport that spanned over two decades. His early competitive years saw him partner with Natalija Banovic from 1997 to 1997, and later with Gordana Grandosek from 1998 to 1999. A significant turning point in his career came in 2000 when he teamed up with Tatsiana Lahvinovich Galchun, forming a partnership that would achieve substantial success. Initially competing as amateurs in 10-Dance, Ballroom, and Latin divisions, they quickly made their mark on the international stage. Their dedication and talent were evident as they trained under notable instructors such as Alenka and Branko Bohak, and later Latin specialist Barbara Ambroz.

The partnership between Zoran Plohl and Tatsiana Lahvinovich Galchun flourished, leading to numerous accomplishments. In 2011, they achieved their goal of becoming World Amateur Latin Champions at the Singapore Open and European Amateur Latin Champions in Marseille. Following these successes, they transitioned to the Professional division in December 2011, concluding their amateur career at the Maribor Open in Slovenia, the same location where their partnership began 12 years prior. As professionals, they continued their winning streak, securing two WDSF European Professional Latin Championships in 2012 and 2013, and the WDSF World Professional Latin Championship in 2012. These achievements established Zoran Plohl as a leading figure in professional DanceSport.
