Darryl Talley

Recognized as a consensus All-American in 1982, Darryl Talley solidified his legacy at West Virginia University, becoming one of its most formidable defensive players, before embarking on a distinguished NFL career. As a versatile standout at West Virginia, excelling as both a fullback and linebacker from 1979 to 1982, Talley led the Mountaineers to significant consecutive bowl appearances, including the Peach Bowl in 1981 and the Gator Bowl in 1982. During his collegiate tenure, he made impactful plays such as an interception against Dan Marino and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. Talley set a school record with an astounding 484 career tackles, a milestone that stood for 21 years, alongside 28 tackles for loss and 19 sacks.

Following his impactful tenure with the Bills, Talley continued his professional journey, playing for the Atlanta Falcons in 1995 before concluding his esteemed career with the Minnesota Vikings in 1996. His enduring legacy with the Buffalo Bills was further honored in 2003 with his induction onto the prestigious Wall of Fame at Ralph Wilson Stadium, solidifying his place in team history. In his retirement, Talley has maintained a strong connection to community engagement and philanthropy. He established a charitable foundation in Rochester, N.Y., and has actively worked with Anchor House Ministries in Orlando, Florida, demonstrating a continued commitment to service and leadership beyond the football field.
