MN2S partnered the chef and television personality with Europe’s leading meat alternative brand for a very special one-off cooking event.
Europe’s leading meat alternative brand Eatplanted has been partnered with chef and food personality Gizzi Erskine by MN2S. Together, they’ve created the first Plantstronomy cooking event, a one-off celebration of plant-based gastronomy held at Leiths School of Food and Wine, this month. The cooking event sees Gizzi create delicious dishes using Eatplanted’s meat substitutes, in an effort to inspire the public to make gourmet standard dishes using alternative plant-based products.
Gizzi Erskine said of the event: “Making and eating food should be a complete experience so the dishes I’ve created transport people to new levels of tasty. Eatplanted is perfect to use as the 5 ingredient products and insane protein levels means you really don’t compromise with meat free dishes and it’s a sustainable source of protein. Using Eatplanted as the meat alternative has meant game changing taste to my favourite dishes”.
Gizzi Erskine is a known advocate sustainable eating, and has even authored her own cookbook on the subject, Restore: A Modern Guide To Sustainable Eating. At the event, Gizzi will be knocking up two phenomenal dishes using Eatplanted’s pulled pork and chicken, and adding her signature flair that takes inspiration from her favourite dishes. Gizzi who trained at the UK’s number one cookery school, Leiths School of Food and Wine, will also be joined by drinks expert and founder of the Dalston Wine Club, Hannah Crosbie, who will be pairing drinks with Gizzi’s fantastic creations. Commenting on the partnership, Eatplanted’s Executive Chef, Francois Poulain said: “Plantstronomy encapsulates exactly what Eatplanted is all about – top quality products, and the simple art and science of plant based, good eating”.
