David Morales scores another remarkable success in his enduring career this week, with his new single ‘There Must Be Love’ hitting #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart.
The disco-influenced house anthem features the vocals of Janice Robinson, and has been getting huge reactions across the globe. With a Funk Soulful Remix from Nigel Lowis and a Soulful House Remix from Kenny Carpenter still to come on September 28, it looks like the track is set to enjoy a very long lease of life.
Of course, it’s one in a long line of Billboard Dance Chart #1s for the legendary Morales. His 1993 single ‘Gimme Luv (Eenie Meenie Miny Mo)’ took the top spot, as did his remixes for Mariah Carey – including ‘Fantasy’ (1995), ‘Always Be My Baby’ (1996), ‘Honey’ (1997), ‘My All’ (1998), ‘I Still Believe’ (1999), ‘It’s Like That’ (2005) and ‘Say Somethin’ (2006).
Speaking to DMC World this month, he also revealed some news about his next project. “[I’m working on] a new album with some cool collaborations. I have Ultra Nate, Janice Robinson, Jonathan Mendelsohn, Tamara Keenan, Polina and Roisin Murphy. I also have some cool underground tracks as well coming out. I like my dirty tracks!”
The ‘underground’ tracks of which he speaks are likely to be a continuation of his ‘The Red Zone Mixes’ series, which he revived earlier this year.
His upcoming gigs include Duel:Beat in Napoli and Kings Of House NYC in Tokyo.
