Legendary funk pioneer George Clinton has live-streamed a special Halloween DJ set for Boiler Room.

The event was headlined by Clinton himself, and featured special guests sets from DJs Turtle Bugg, Rimarkable, and Patrice Scott.

Clinton’s trademark brand of P-Funk was a major influence on Detroit Techno, which Derrick May described as “like George Clinton and Kraftwerk caught in an elevator, with only a sequencer to keep them company.”
Detroit Techno musicians have continued to draw on Clinton’s work, particularly with his bands Parliament and Funkadelic, over the years. This special event comes alongside the release of Funkadelic – Reworked by Detroiters, a landmark compilation album featuring brand new remixes of classic P-Funk tracks by the likes of Moodymann, Underground Resistance, Amp Fiddler and more.
The full event lasted for a rollicking four hours, which you can stream in full via Boiler Room below.
Clinton’s set was a clear highlight, with the veteran showman jumping between the decks and the mic, comparing the crowd with his infectious enthusiasm. From this set alone, it’s clear that George Clinton is every bit as riotous whether he’s on stage with his band, or in the booth with his records.
