Artist Spotlight: Tom Preston's New Single Unveiled | MN2S
Tom Preston

Welsh producer Tom Preston blends uplifting piano melodies, emotional vocals and festival-ready drops into dance music built to connect.

Born and raised in the coastal town of Burry Port, Wales, Tom Preston is an emerging House, Dance and EDM producer with one simple goal: creating music that people can both feel and dance to. Self-taught in FL Studio after receiving his first set of DJ decks at the age of 13, Tom draws inspiration from dance music icons including Avicii, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and Calvin Harris. His previous single, Say Nothing, earned repeat airplay on XL:UK Radio, Bro Radio and Amazing Radio, including its American counterpart, and his new single, Never Let Me Go, arrives on 1 August with the pre-save link live now. Tom Preston is now working with MN2S Label Services to bring his music to a global audience.

How did you get into music? What is your musical background?

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it all started with my grandfather. He loved artists like Queen, Paul McCartney and Pink Floyd, so the house was always filled with music. That inspired me to start experimenting with DJing on a computer, and when I was 13 my grandparents bought me my first set of DJ decks. From there it snowballed. I taught myself FL Studio and started producing my own tracks, and I have not looked back since.

Tell us about your first release and what was special about that one.

My very first release was Turn The Night Too Loud, which came out on New Year’s Eve 2025. What made it special is that it took me years, and a lot of courage from my friends and family, to finally publish my music. I always doubted myself and thought there are so many other artists out there doing the same thing as me, so why would I be special? I am so glad they pushed me to do it, because now I have support from so many people. I never thought I would even be in this position.

Tell us about the latest project you worked on.

My new single, Never Let Me Go, is out on 1 August and the pre-save is live now. The story behind it is about losing people who are close to you, people you thought would never leave. It was inspired by personal experience, so the lyrics mean a lot to me. My previous single, Say Nothing, was played on repeat by three radio stations, XL:UK Radio in Swansea, whose station manager has helped me out so much with his advice and support, Bro Radio in the Vale of Glamorgan, and Amazing Radio, which has played it a number of times, including on the American version of the station. I have also been getting promo copies of Never Let Me Go out to DJs and radio stations ahead of release, so I want this one to keep that momentum building.

Could you describe your musical style and creative vision?

My style blends uplifting piano melodies, emotional vocals and powerful festival-style drops. Artists like Avicii, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and Calvin Harris shaped the way I think about dance music, and my admiration for Avicii and Martin Garrix runs so deep that I wear their logos as tattoos. They are a daily reminder of why I chase this dream. At the heart of everything I make is connection. I want to create songs that people can sing along to, relate to, and lose themselves in from the first verse to the final drop.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of entering the music industry?

Whether it is producing or wanting to learn to DJ, follow your dreams. For years I wanted to do this and I am gutted I never did it sooner. Always chase your dreams, and even if you think it is not good enough, just put it out there. Feedback is the most amazing tool in this line of work.

What are your plans for the rest of the year and beyond?

My goal for the rest of the year is to carry on producing music. I am always working on new songs, and my aim is to release every two to three months, with a potential collaboration in the works too. After taking a break from DJing, I am getting back into it now, with potential gigs in London, Bristol and Cardiff this year. Any opportunities that arise, I am jumping straight onto them.

What have you enjoyed about working with MN2S Label Services?

The best part about MN2S is the support. Any questions or concerns I have had, they have been answered.
