MN2S Label Group’s Quantize Recordings celebrates its one hundredth release, ‘Don’t Quit (Be A Believer)’ by Diephuis & Eastar featuring Jocelyn Brown.

The record label was set up by renowned soulful house producer DJ Spen in 2012 as a part of the the MN2S Label Group. MN2S is proud to have handled the release of every Quantize Recordings track from day one, helping the label grow into the huge success it is today.

‘Don’t Quit (Be A Believer)’ is Quantize Recordings’ second release from Diephuis & Eastar after 2014’s ‘Light Up The Sky’ featuring Natasha Watts.
 

 
This time, legendary r&b and dance diva Jocelyn Brown handles the vocals, which she also co-wrote with Lorraine Lucas. After working with r&b groups like Cerrone, Change and Inner Life in the 1970s and 80s, and lending vocals to dance tracks by the likes of Masters at Work throughout the 90s and 00s, Jocelyn Brown has mastered the kind of strong, soulful vocals we have come to expect on a Quantize Recordings track.

The release includes the Original Mix and Club Mix of ‘Don’t Quit (Be A Believer)’ from Diephuis & Eastar, with the Club Mix amplifying the bassline and adding dance floor-erupting transitions. An additional two mixes come from DJ Spen & Soulfuledge, who add new drumbeats and key lines to give the song a straightforward house feel.

The release of QTZ100 is a huge milestone for Quantize Records. The label’s first release was ‘Until You’ by N’Dinga Gaba & DJ Spen featuring Marc Evans. From that record to this one, Quantize Recordings have been true to their ethos and their goal to incorporate these four things into all of their music: soulful house, dance music, a message, and a unique sound.
 

 
We asked DJ Spen about running Quantize Records, and what this milestone means to him and Quantize Records as a whole. This is what he told us:

“This is God’s label 100 percent and it is an absolute pleasure to manage it. We have come quite a long way since QTZ001. We could not run our day to day without the likes of my wife Kelly, my label partner Thommy Davis, Russell Politt, Chris James and Dave Elkabas from MN2S.

We’ve gone through our shares of ups-and-downs, heartaches and heartbreaks. We’ve been sitting on top of the moon, and we’ve been sitting on the side of the street. So many things have happened, and so many people have come and gone since we started, but everything has proven to work together for the good of Quantize, Unquantize, and our affiliate labels Poji, Soulfuledge, Solid Ground, and Rejoice Records.

I have been involved with developing 4 different labels, but this is the first one to reach 100 releases. I had no idea we would be this far this quickly and I’d like to mention a few people who have helped us in massive ways to reach this goal: Gary Hudgins, Gregory Lewis, Hozay Clowney, Sheila Ford, Tracy Hamlin, Marc Evans, N’Dinga Gaba, Irvin Madden, Robbi The Promoter, Bill Pratt, Kenny Carpenter, Michele Chiavarini, Neil Pierce, Ziggy Funk, David Anthony, Danny Krivit & Louie Vega.

Now….let’s actually talk about the release. This is our second release with Diephuis & Eastar. When we first heard the track, we loved it. After they landed Jocelyn Brown to do the vocals, we were completely sold. We also knew that with our 100th release coming, this song would be the one we wanted to represent it.

It’s positive in its message, beautifully composed, and Jocelyn’s vocal delivery is stellar! We plan on doing more remixes later this year, but for now we hope that our fans will love this record as much as we do!”
