Champion vocalist and songwriter Chris Willis has reached thousands of dance fans once again with his latest track ‘Would I Lie to You’ with David Guetta and Chris Gervais, which as of now has surpassed 8 million views on YouTube.
Chris Willis’ signature vocal stylings adorn David Guetta’s latest hit track: ‘Would I Lie to You’. As the French superstar DJ explained to 1001tracklists, he produced the track with Cedric Gervais, and called up Chris Willis right away to provide vocals. “I knew his voice would fit the song perfectly,” Guetta said. And it does.
The track is a club rework of Charles & Eddie’s 1990s hit of the same name. Guetta, Gervais & Willis’ single takes the central vocal hook from the original track and creates everything else from the ground. Particular highlights are Chris Willis’ improvised ad libs and a sections where Guetta bends and reshapes Willis’ voice, using it almost like a synthesizer.
‘Would I Lie to You’ is just the latest collaboration between David Guetta and Chris Willis. The pair have worked together on dozens of songs, including the hits ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’ and ‘Love Is Gone’, which Willis co-wrote. Willis frequently writes with Guetta and provides vocals for singles and albums, often performing on up to half of a Guetta album’s tracks.
