A big congrats this week to MN2S artists Lady Leshurr and Yungen, who both received nominations for the 2015 MOBO Awards.
Lady Leshurr [pictured] is nominated in the Best Hip-Hop Artist category alongside Akala, Krept & Konan, Little Simz and Nines, while Yungen is nominated in the Best Newcomer category along with Bugzy Malone, Section Boyz, Nao, Bonkaz, Nick Brewer, George The Poet, J Hus, Snakehips, and Sinead Harnett. Voting for both categories opens on October 1.
It’s more great news for Leshurr, who also officially sold out her first ever UK headline tour this week. Her ‘Queen’s Speech Ep. 4’ freestyle has racked up a staggering 4.8m views on YouTube in three months since being released, making her one of the most talked-about urban artists in the country. With recent tour dates overseas in Belgium and Turkey, she’s also increasingly in-demand across the world.
Yungen has just been announced as the support act for Lethal Bizzle’s upcoming UK tour, taking in already-sold-out dates in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Brighton, plus London and Bristol. His recent collaboration with Sneakbo, ‘With That’, has been doing the damage, reaching 900,000 plays across YouTube and Spotify in just over a month.
The 2015 MOBO Awards take place at Leeds’ First Direct Arena on Wednesday 4 November.
