Lady Leshurr’s ascent continues with her appearance on BBC 1Xtra’s hallowed Live Lounge this week during Trevor Nelson’s show.

She was joined by Deborah ‘Debris’ Stevenson of Nottingham poetry crew The Mouthy Poets for the performance, which formed part of 1Xtra’s Spoken Word Special. The performance is themed around Notting Hill Carnival, featuring steel pan renditions of carnival favourites such as Dawn Penn’s ‘You Don’t Love Me (No No No)’ You can listen to the performance in the rip below.

She also recently announced her five-date MADTING UK Tour for this October with the following dates:

Monday 26 October: Sound Control, Manchester
Tuesday 27 October: Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London
Wednesday 28 October: The Institute, Birmingham
Saturday 31 October: Chunk, Leeds

Her latest freestyle, the Krunchie and Z Dot produced ‘Queen’s Speech Ep. 4’ [below] has amassed an incredible 1.8 million views in just over a week at the time of writing, receiving praise from the likes of The FADER who wrote: “Basically, every word of this freestyle is a gem, and you should just hurry up and click play if you haven’t already.” The track sees her reference everyone from Kanye West to Rick Ross to Kriss Kross in her inimitable humorous style.

The series has also been nominated in GRM Daily’s Rated Awards in the Best Project category, alongside JME, Krept & Konan, Youngs Telefon, Bugzy Malone, Nines, Yungen and J Spades.
