The UK’s soul queen has released a brand new album inspired by legends of the gospel genre.
Mica Paris is back with Gospel, making a return to her roots with a record inspired by titans of the genre and her rich and varied experiences as a musician. Featuring Gospel classics such as “Oh Happy Day” and “Something Inside (So Strong)”, mixed with more contemporary songs such as Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s “Human” and interpreted with her typically soulful flair, the record sends a strong message of hope and positiviy throughout. The album also features original cuts “Mama Said” and “The Struggle” which offer an emotional perspective on Paris’ experiences, further establishing the message of self-belief present throughout the project.
Mica Paris appeared on Later with Jools Holland to perform a cut from the album, accompanied by the man himself. Playing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” to an audience of millions, Mica has left viewers with no doubt that she remains one of the UK’s finest vocalists and an undeniable talent.
