Mica Paris records charity single for Commonwealth Day 2019 | MN2S

The UK’s soul queen has contributed lead vocals to ‘Believe’, recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

Mica Paris joined the Commonwealth Children’s Choir, the Commonwealth Scholars’ Choir and the Commonwealth Orchestra & Youth Orchestra to record a song written by noted composer Simon Haw MBE. ‘Believe’ is said to be “a song written for all children of The Commonwealth, inspiring them to aspire to greatness in whatever path in life they wish to take.”

The song’s central message is that from wherever a child starts in life, with a little help, opportunity and encouragement and through their own sheer determination to succeed, anything is possible – you just have to believe.

Dedicated to Her Majesty The Queen to mark the 70th Anniversary of The Commonwealth, the single was launched with a live performance at St John’s Smith Square, London on Tuesday 12th March, the day after Commonwealth Day. Speaking of the collaboration, Mica said: “I believe it is of utmost importance that all children have music education taught in schools around the world, because a child brought up with access to music creates an enriched adult in later life.”

It’s truly been an honour to sing on this new single and be made the honorary Vice President and Music Ambassador of the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir.
