Cult UK MC President T has teamed up with Better Boy Know stalwart JME for the new single ‘House & Pop’ on Star Work Music.
In his trademark baritone bars, Prez clears up which genre he performs in. It’s grime. Not house or pop. The complex wordplay from both MCs and the sparse production from Splurgeboys confirms this.
JME’s verse recalls the last time he collaborated with President T on 2008’s ‘Heard What I Said’. The Better Boy Know maestro condenses multiple genre names into clever one liners.
The track has already taken off, with coverage from Complex, GRM Daily, RWD Mag and ContentDope within its first 24hrs of release. Radio DJs have also given huge support to ‘House & Pop’. 1Xtra have put the song on their C-List along with tracks from Lil Wayne, Dizzy Rascal and Little Simz. Rinse FM have put it straight onto their A-List. With praise and plays from Huw Stephens, Annie Stephens, MistaJam, and grime tastemaker Charlie Sloth, expect ‘House & Pop’ to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer and one of the grime club anthems of the year.
The song’s rowdy video has already racked up over 50,000 views.
‘House & Pop’ is the first track to be released from President T’s forthcoming album Stranger Returns, due out later in 2016. Book President T now for a grime masterclass.
