Kelly Brook: The Nation's Sweetheart | News | MN2S Talent

Kelly Brook, now a household name, is an established celebrity talent. A model, actress and media personality, Kelly is able to lend her charm and beauty to all manner of media events. She studied at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre and Arts in London shortly before starting her career as a professional model thanks to winning first place in a beauty competition, entered into it by her mother.

Brook began with small modelling jobs, mostly consisting of advertising campaigns for products such as Foster’s lager, Piz Buin sun cream, Walker’s crisps and Bravissimo lingerie and swimwear – a retailer for D+ cup sizes. Thanks to this exposure, Brook’s face and figure caught the eye of the Daily Star, who promptly began featuring her as a Page Three girl. She also quickly caught the attention of popular lad’s magazines such as GQ, Loaded and FHM. Brook has been consistently voted a favourite in public opinion polls for sexiest females, and in a survey led by women’s weekly magazine Grazia, 5,000 women voted her as having the best figure of any British female. In 2005, she would top the list of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World, and in 2010 featured in one of Playboy’s landmark publications, further cementing her renowned sex symbol status.

Kelly continued her work in the advertising industry, becoming the face of big brands like Lynx Body Spray and appearing in advertising campaigns for T Mobile, Sky+ and Reebok. In 2010, Ultimo, the designer lingerie brand chose Brook to be “the new face and body” of their then latest campaign. Brook continues to be active in retail and fashion, producing and modelling her personal line of swimwear from high-street staple New Look. In 2014 she collaborated with Simply Be, renowned for their inclusive sizes in both clothes and lingerie, to release her own new range. As of 2015, Kelly has become the face of Skechers footwear, fronting their global and multi platform advertising campaign.

Accompanying her work in front of the camera as a model, Brook has also demonstrated her talents as a presenter and mainstream media favourite. She began doing so in 1997, aged only 18 years old, presenting programmes targeted at younger audiences for television giant MTV as well as Granada Television and Trouble TV. Brook also briefly presented alongside Johnny Vaughan for the Big Breakfast, replacing Denise Van Outen, and also hosted the ITV reality television show Celebrity Love Island. In 2007, Brook became a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, however she withdrew from the competition in week 9 after having suffered from the tragic loss of her father. The following year, however, she would return to ballroom dancing for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Specialand claimed second place, dancing jive with partner Brian Fortuna.

Brook has also enjoyed success on the big screen. She began with small roles in the films Ripper and The Italian Job and soon landed starring roles in others including School for Seduction in 2004 and Survival Island alongside Titanic star Billy Zane the following year. Brook also undertook a leading role in the well-received horror-comedy remake Pirahna 3D in 2010, and played herself in 2012’s Keith Lemon: The Film, a production featuring star cameos such as David Hasselhoff, Gary Barlow and Fearne Cotton.

Kelly continues to be a popular choice with the public and has most recently been chosen by HTC to advertise their new phone, the HTCM9Gold. Who knows what Brook will turn her hand to next, but one thing is for certain; her many varied talents will ensure that she remains the nation’s sweetheart.
