Professional footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones will star in the upcoming movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

The national treasure, known for his tough guy roles and no nonsense attitude, has just wrapped filming for the high profile franchise sequel. The Golden Circle follows 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, which starred Colin Firth, Samuel L Jackson and Michael Caine, alongside newcomer Taron Egerton.

Many of the original cast are returning for the sequel, with the addition of Vinnie Jones being warmly received by all. Director Matthew Vaughn, of X-Men: First Class and Kick Ass fame, is also returning, and new stars joining the cast include Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges.

Aside from Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Vinnie Jones is also starring in ABC’s musical comedy series Galavant, showcasing the lighter side of his acting skills. The show is in its second season, and it has received critical acclaim throughout its run so far. Vinnie’s character Gareth has proven to be a fan favourite already.

Elsewhere on the small screen, Vinnie is set to appear in CW’s Arrow, giving us his take on a supervillain.
