Hedkandi

Hedkandi was founded in 1999 by Mark Doyle. Doyle developed the initial concept, name, and track listings for the label, which was established within Jazz FM’s Enterprise Division as a complementary venture to Jazz FM Records. The brand quickly gained recognition through its live events, establishing a residency in Ibiza at el Divino. This success was further amplified by a dedicated radio show on Jazz FM, contributing to its growing popularity.

In 2002, building on the success of its Ibiza nights, Hedkandi launched a regular residency at Pacha in London. The brand’s operations were supported by ‘Team Kandi,’ a group comprising disc jockeys, brand ambassadors, and administrative staff who managed the international distribution of albums and events. Hedkandi distinguished itself within the club scene by emphasizing glitzy and glamorous production alongside its distinctive musical sound and carefully selected venues. In January 2006, Ministry of Sound acquired Hedkandi.

Since its inception, Hedkandi has evolved into a global phenomenon. It has developed from hosting small boutique parties to staging over 500 events annually, maintaining residencies in locations such as Dubai, Amsterdam, the US, Frankfurt, Thailand, and the UK. Notable venues where Hedkandi has hosted events include Es Paradis Ibiza, Nikki Beach Miami, Pacha London, and the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in Amsterdam. The brand also operates a solo bar in Koh Samui and broadcasts a radio show on over 30 stations worldwide.
