Abbi Jacobson, a multifaceted American talent, has left an indelible mark across comedy, acting, writing, producing, and illustration. Born in 1984 in Wayne, Pennsylvania, her journey into the entertainment world began with a passion for fine arts and video production, which she pursued at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), graduating in 2006.
Upon moving to New York City, Jacobson delved into the vibrant comedy scene, honing her skills at esteemed institutions like the Atlantic Theater Company and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. It was at UCB where she crossed paths with Ilana Glazer, igniting a creative partnership that would reshape comedy.
Their web series, “Broad City,” which chronicled their misadventures in New York, garnered critical acclaim and a devoted following, propelling Jacobson into the spotlight. Her talents extended beyond the screen as she ventured into writing and illustrating, publishing popular coloring books that captured the essence of New York City and San Francisco.
Jacobson’s versatility shone through in her voice acting roles, from the irrepressible Katie Mitchell in “The Mitchells vs. the Machines” to the adventurous Princess Bean in “Disenchantment.” In 2022, she co-created, produced, and starred in the Amazon Prime series “A League of Their Own,” a reimagining of the classic film, where she portrayed the determined catcher Carson Shaw.
