Apl.de.ap (pronounced Apple Dee App) was born Allan Pineda Lindo and is a Filipino American singer, producer and rapper who is a key part of the Grammy Award winning, multi-million record selling pop band The Black Eyed Peas. Having only permanently moved to America aged 14, it was at high school that Apl.de.ap first met William Adams aka the man who went on to become known as will.i.am. Influenced by bands like De La Soul and The Beatles, the pair were also into breakdancing and in 1998 formed the band.
As well as being a creative powerhouse as part of that band, Apl.de.ap runs his own label Jeepney Music and is a philanthropist who is proud of his Filipino roots. In all The Black Eyed Peas sold more than 60 million records and have had seven studio albums in all. Apl.de.ap is also a skilled DJ who can get any party jumping and has done so for many high end clients, private celebrities and corporate companies on a number of occasions. Calling on the sort of R&B, dance, hip hop and pop that informs the music he makes with the band, his sound is suited to many party environments and his skills and charisma in the booth are undeniable. Apl.de.ap is currently a presenter for Top Gear in the Philippines and is also a coach on The Voice of the Philippines. Despite all his endeavours he will surely find the time to get a party started.
