Cannons

Cannons formed in 2013 in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of lead vocalist Michelle Joy, lead guitarist Ryan Clapham, and keyboardist and bass guitarist Paul Davis. Clapham and Davis had been friends since childhood and began composing music together during their teenage years. They met Michelle Joy through a Craigslist advertisement where she was seeking a band in need of a vocalist. The trio initially collaborated remotely, exchanging musical tracks and lyrical contributions over the internet.

In 2014, Cannons released their first EP, “Up All Night.” This was followed by their debut album, “Night Drive,” in 2017, and a second EP, “In a Heartbeat,” in 2018. Their second album, “Shadows,” was released in 2019 through AntiFragile Music. A significant turning point occurred when their single “Fire for You” from “Shadows” was featured in an episode of the comedy-drama TV series “Never Have I Ever” in 2020. This exposure led to increased commercial success for the band, resulting in their signing with Columbia Records.

“Fire for You” subsequently reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in early 2021. The band released their third album, “Fever Dream,” in March 2022. Their fourth album, “Heartbeat Highway,” was released on November 10, 2023, following several single releases, including “Crush.”
