Patrick Megeath, known as Dirt Monkey, has established himself in the electronic music scene, notably within Denver, Colorado’s dubstep community. His career began over a decade ago, where he developed a distinct sound characterized by its uplifting and bouncy qualities. His music has garnered support from a diverse range of artists including Skream, Benga, Rusko, Datsik, Excision, A-Trak, Virtual Riot, Anna Lunoe, Annie Nightingale (BBC Radio 1), Downlink, Ganga White Night, and Protohype. A key milestone in his early career was the widespread support for his remix of Rusko’s “Woo Boost,” released on Subcarbon Records.
Dirt Monkey has a history of collaborations with artists such as DMVU, Space Jesus, Illenium, Party Wave, Run DMT, AMP Live, and Jantsen. He has performed at a variety of venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, clubs in France, and Beta Nightclub in Denver, CO, where he held a five-year residency. In addition to his production and performance career, he co-founded and operated the record label Kairos Audio with Jantsen for four years. His work has been released on notable labels including Bassrush, Deadbeats, SubCarbon, Wakaan, Disciple Round Table, and Circus Records.
Throughout his career, Dirt Monkey has consistently delivered new music, including numerous singles, collaborations, remixes, and albums. In 2019, he launched his own imprint label, 19K, focusing on experimental electronic music and showcasing both established and emerging artists. His sixth full-length album, “Depolarize,” was released in 2021, followed by a 40-stop headline bus tour across the United States. In 2023, he embarked on a 50-stop co-headline “Full Circle Tour” across North America with Jantsen and released his double album “MYCELIUM SOUND,” which featured both up-tempo and deep, melodic tracks. He continued his extensive touring schedule into 2024 with the “MYCELIUM SOUND TOUR” and is scheduled to headline events at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre.
