Released in September 2000, Felt Mountain garnered favorable reviews for its cinematic soundscapes and Alison Goldfrapp’s unique vocals, though it did not achieve high commercial chart positions upon its initial release. The duo’s sound evolved significantly with their second album, Black Cherry, released in April 2003, incorporating glam rock and synth-pop elements.

The duo has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2022, with Alison Goldfrapp actively pursuing successful solo projects.
