Jamie Lewis

Jamie Lewis, whose real name is Cem Berter, is an electronic dance music DJ and producer originally from Winterthur, Switzerland. He is predominantly known for his work in the house music genre. Lewis established his record label, Purple Music, in 1997 with the specific objective of integrating Gospel music with house music. The label, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, quickly became recognized as a significant force in the house music scene throughout the 2000s. Purple Music has maintained a monthly residency party at the Kaufleuten club in Zurich since its inception.

Throughout his career, Jamie Lewis has collaborated with a range of music icons, including vocalists such as Jocelyn Brown, Michelle Weeks, Lisa Millett, Inaya Day, and Michael Watford, all of whom have appeared on numerous tracks released through Purple Music. His production work has also included highly successful remixes of artists like Cerrone in the 2000s, with “Hooked On You” and “You Are The One” being notable examples. He has been nominated twice for the House Music Awards in the UK and was awarded the DJ Award for Breakthrough DJ in 2006. Beyond his foundational role with Purple Music, he has been involved in other ventures such as the former owner/CEO of Cre8 Talent Agency and the founder of the label Ahead of the Game Entertainment.

Lewis’s discography includes multiple albums and numerous singles and EPs, released on Purple Music and other affiliated labels like Purple Tracks. His album releases include “Cerrone By Jamie Lewis” (2009), “Flashback” (2010), and “Say Yes” (2015) in collaboration with Tanja Dankner and Fabulous Keys. His work as a producer, artist, and entrepreneur has solidified his position within the global dance music community.
