Samuel Knowles, professionally known as Karma Kid, is a British record producer and DJ from Matlock, Derbyshire. He began releasing music under his own alias in 2012. His early career saw him issuing tracks like “Entity Relationship Diagram” and “Lust, Love” in 2012, primarily through labels such as Just Us and L2S Recordings. Throughout this period, he established himself within the electronic music scene.
Over the years, Karma Kid’s work expanded to include production and writing sessions for other artists. He has collaborated with notable musicians such as Octavian, Aquilo, Duckwrth, Rudimental, and Bakar. In addition to his solo work, Knowles is also one half of the electronic duo Shy Luv. This period of behind-the-scenes work allowed him to develop his production skills further and contribute to a wider range of musical projects.
His discography includes releases on prominent electronic music labels including Greco-Roman, Future Classic, Roche Musique, and Black Butter Records. Significant releases include “Bird of Prey” (2014) on Future Classic, “Man of The Year” (2016) and “Thru The Tundra” featuring Aminé (2016) on Greco-Roman, and “Freedom” (2020), also on Greco-Roman.
