Martin Solveig

Martin Solveig, born Martin Laurent Picandet on September 22, 1976, in Paris, France, embarked on his musical journey at a young age. He received classical music training as a child, joining the choir of The Paris Boys Choir and becoming a soprano soloist. At 18, he transitioned into DJing, establishing himself in prominent Parisian nightclubs such as L’Enfer, Le Queen, and Les Bains-Douches. Solveig has managed his own label, Mixture Stereophonic, and has been recognized in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs, ranking highest at number 29 in 2011.

His career saw the release of five studio albums, starting with ‘Sur la Terre’ in 2002. Subsequent albums include ‘Hedonist’ (2005), ‘C’est la Vie’ (2008), ‘Smash’ (2011), and ‘Back to Life’ (2023). A significant milestone in his career was the 2010 single “Hello” with Dragonette, which achieved international success, peaking at number one in several countries and reaching number 46 on the US Hot 100 chart. Solveig is also known for his collaborations with other artists, including David Guetta, Madonna, Laidback Luke, and Jax Jones (as part of Europa).

In July 2025, Martin Solveig announced his retirement from DJing during a performance at France’s Les Vieilles Charrues music festival, his only live appearance for the year. He confirmed that while he would no longer be performing live as a DJ, he would continue to create music. This decision marked a transition in his career, allowing him to focus on other musical endeavors and support emerging talent. Throughout his career, Solveig has consistently produced and written music, contributing to various albums and singles for himself and other notable artists.
