Tritonal, an American DJ and music production duo, was formed in 2008 by Chad Cisneros and David Reed in Austin, Texas. In their formative years, they gained recognition for their trance productions, often collaborating with vocalist Cristina Soto. Their track “Lights Over Austin” was featured on the 2008 Anjunabeats Volume Six compilation by Above & Beyond. This early success positioned them as emerging artists in the electronic music scene. In 2010, Tritonal established their own trance sub-label, Air Up There Recordings, under Enhanced Music, releasing their track “Hands to Hold Me” featuring Cristina Soto as the inaugural release.
The duo’s career progressed significantly with their 2011 debut album, “Piercing the Quiet.” This album featured eight top 20 Beatport singles, with five reaching the number one position on the trance chart for over three weeks. The subsequent remix album, “Piercing the Quiet Remixed,” released in September 2012, entered the top 5 on the iTunes dance albums chart. In 2012, they were ranked #65 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list and were recognized by MTV Clubland as one of the “10 Artists to Watch in 2013.” After 100 episodes, their radio show “Air Up There” concluded with a sold-out live performance in Austin, Texas, giving way to their new program, “Tritonia,” which broadcasts on SiriusXM BPM channel 51.
A significant turning point for Tritonal occurred in 2013 when they transitioned their musical style from trance to house, evident in their “Metamorphic” EP series. The first installment, “Metamorphic I,” was released in March 2013, followed by a major North American tour encompassing over 40 cities. Additionally, in April 2013, Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed joined Will Holland as co-owners and directors of Enhanced Music. Throughout their career, Tritonal has produced over 200 original tracks and remixes, garnering support from prominent DJs like Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Tiësto, and Steve Aoki. Their collaborations include chart-topping hits such as “Untouchable” with Cash Cash, which made Billboard’s Year-End Top 100 for Dance/Electronic songs in 2015, and “Until You Were Gone” with The Chainsmokers. They have appeared at major festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Zoo Festival. Their studio albums include “Painting with Dreams” (2016) and “U & Me” (2019), continuing their evolution in electronic dance music.
