Nina Kraviz

Nina Kraviz was born and raised in Irkutsk, Siberia, Russia. She initially pursued a career in dentistry, moving to Moscow to complete her studies and residency. Prior to her music career, Kraviz held various roles, including a local Irkutsk radio show host, a fanzine writer, and a club resident DJ on Friday nights. Her early engagements in music were balanced with her professional life in dentistry.

Kraviz’s entry into the electronic music scene gained momentum in 2005 when she was accepted into the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle. Although she could not attend that year due to visa issues, she participated the following year in Melbourne. By 2008, she secured a regular DJ residency at the Propaganda Club in Moscow. This period marked her dedicated shift towards a full-time music career, culminating in the release of her self-titled debut album in February 2012 through the Rekids record label, which received mixed-positive reviews.

In 2014, Kraviz established her own record label, “трип” (Trip), which has since served as a platform for electronic music artists and innovative sounds. She further expanded her discography by mixing the 48th DJ-Kicks album, released in January 2015. Her work has also extended to other media, including contributing music to the 2020 video game Cyberpunk 2077, where she also provided voice work for a cameo appearance in both Russian and English versions. In 2023, she collaborated with Jean-Michel Jarre on a remake of his track “Sex in the Machine Take 2” and was a part of PX099: 100 Years Of Colombia, a techno compilation aimed at raising awareness for Colombia’s social unrest.
