John Digweed is a British DJ and record producer who has achieved global recognition through his innovative contributions to progressive house music and his numerous collaborations, including with Sasha and Nick Muir. After submitting a groundbreaking mixtape to Geoff Oakes, founder of the Renaissance nightclub in 1993, John Digweed went on to establish a reputation as a pioneer in progressive house music, beginning a significant collaboration with DJ Sasha. Together, they released ‘Renaissance: The Mix Collection’ in 1994, a commercial compilation that set a precedent for compilation CDs in the electronic music industry, followed by the acclaimed ‘Northern Exposure’ and ‘Global Underground’ series. Digweed subsequently formed Bedrock Records, further supporting the sound he championed, and created the production duo Bedrock with Nick Muir.
