Yves Larock

Yves Cheminade, known professionally as Yves Larock, was born on July 18, 1977, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He commenced his career as a DJ and record producer in 2002. Larock quickly became known for his contributions to the house music genre. He signed with various labels throughout his career, including MAP Records (2004–2006), D:vision Records (2004–present), Ultra Records (2005–present), Data Records (2007–present), ULM (2007–present), and Millia Records (2009–present). He is also a member of Africanism All Stars.

His track “Zookey” in 2005 gained initial attention, but it was his 2007 single “Rise Up,” featuring vocals by Jaba, that propelled him to international recognition. “Rise Up” was a popular club track across Europe and South Africa, reaching number 13 on the UK Singles Chart and achieving high chart positions in France, Belgium, Finland, Greece, and Sweden. This success led to the release of his debut studio album, “Rise Up,” in 2008, which charted in Switzerland. He followed this with subsequent albums “Manego” in 2009 and “Milky Way” in 2011, both released under Ministry of Sound.

Larock has continued to release music and perform globally, including a four-day tour in India for New Year’s Eve. He has collaborated with artists such as David Guetta, Tim Deluxe, Bob Sinclar, DJ Gregory, and African-based artists throughout his career. His work has involved numerous remixes for other artists, including Kim Wilde, Steve Edwards, and NERVO. In 2020, he released the single “Here We Go” with Bastian Baker, which charted in Switzerland. He is consistently active as a DJ and producer, with an ongoing presence in the electronic music scene.
