A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle, formed in 1999, has continually evolved their alternative rock sound, releasing four studio albums and touring globally, establishing themselves as a significant force in modern rock music. After releasing their debut album ‘Mer de Noms’ in 2000, A Perfect Circle quickly established themselves as a significant force in modern rock music, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200 and selling an impressive 188,000 copies in its first week. This landmark achievement made it the highest-selling debut album for a rock band at the time. Formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, the band saw ‘Mer de Noms’ achieve Platinum certification from the RIAA by October 2000, selling over 1 million copies.

This album represented their first new material in fourteen years and was supported by extensive touring throughout 2018. Maintaining their unique creative dynamic with Howerdel composing music and Keenan writing lyrics and vocal melodies, A Perfect Circle continues to influence modern rock. Most recently, in 2024, the band released the new song ‘Kindred’ as part of the ‘Sessanta E.P.P.P.’ compilation, reaffirming their ongoing impact and enduring legacy within the alternative rock landscape.
