Adrian Belew

Adrian Belew’s distinctive guitar style and innovative sonic perspective led to his discovery by Frank Zappa in 1977. He toured with Zappa’s band from 1977-1978, contributing to the 1979 album Sheik Yerbouti and the Baby Snakes concert film. Recruited by David Bowie for his 1978 Isolar II world tour, Belew also contributed to Bowie’s 1979 album Lodger. His collaborative streak continued with Talking Heads and Brian Eno on the influential 1980 album Remain in Light and their 1980-1981 live tour, alongside Tom Tom Club’s 1981 self-titled debut album.

In 1981, Belew co-founded and became the frontman and second guitarist for the legendary progressive rock group King Crimson, a role he maintained through 2009, contributing to acclaimed albums including Discipline (1981) and Thrak (1995).
