Born Alexaundra Christine Schneiderman on December 9, 1996, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Alexa began her journey in entertainment with early training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap. She pursued dance from a young age, continuing through high school where she was involved in competitive show choirs at Jenks High School. Later, she studied theatre at Tulsa Community College. Her interest in K-pop led her to create social media accounts for covering K-pop songs and choreography, which eventually paved the way for her professional career in South Korea.
Alexa, initially performing as Alex Christine, first gained recognition through the ‘Rising Legends’ online auditions by Soompi in 2016 and 2017, where she won the overall competition in her second attempt. Despite these successes, she did not join a major entertainment agency’s trainee program. Instead, she signed with ZB Label, an independent company. In 2018, she participated in ‘Produce 48’ but was eliminated in the first round at number 82. Her official K-pop debut came in October 2019 with the single album “Bomb.” The following year, she released her first mini-album, ‘Do or Die,’ and collaborated on “Be The Future” for the Millenasia Project, supported by UNESCO to raise awareness on education during the COVID-19 pandemic. She continued to release music, including her second mini-album ‘Decoherence’ in October 2020 and a digital single, “Never Let You Go,” in 2021.
A significant milestone in Alexa’s career occurred in 2022 when she represented Oklahoma in NBC’s ‘American Song Contest’ with her song “Wonderland,” ultimately winning the competition. This victory led to a U.S. tour across eight cities in October 2022. She also expanded her acting portfolio, securing a main role as Juggernaut in the animated series “Ghosts of Ruin” in 2023. In February 2025, she announced her re-debut under her birth name, Kim Seri, and released her final album as Alexa, ‘Sugarcoat’, marking her departure from ZB Label and the AleXa stage name.
