Alice Merton

Alice Merton is a German-Canadian singer-songwriter who rose to prominence with her debut single “No Roots” and has established herself as a notable figure in alternative pop music. After co-founding Paper Plane Records International in late 2016 with manager Paul Grauwinkel and independently releasing her debut single ‘No Roots,’ Alice Merton quickly achieved global recognition. ‘No Roots’ reached number one on both Hype Machine and Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts in 2016. That same year, she won the annual award for the promotion of talented newcomers in the Acoustic Pop category.

Continuing her consistent release schedule, Merton began 2024 with the single ‘Run Away Girl,’ followed by her EP ‘Heron.’ A deluxe version, ‘Heron II,’ was also released in 2024. Looking ahead, Merton is set to release the single ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ in 2025, with her third studio album, ‘Visions,’ announced for a 2026 release.
