Alison Moyet

Alison Moyet’s career began in 1982 with the formation of the synth-pop duo Yazoo alongside Vince Clarke. Operating as Yaz in North America, the duo achieved international hits including ‘Only You,’ ‘Don’t Go,’ ‘Situation,’ and ‘Nobody’s Diary.’ Yazoo released two acclaimed albums, ‘Upstairs at Eric’s’ and the UK number one ‘You and Me Both.’ Moyet then launched her solo career, signing with CBS in 1983. She received the Gold Badge Award from The Ivors Academy in 2014, the same year she released the live album ‘Minutes and Seconds – Live.’ She performed at the Burberry Show at London Fashion Week in 2015 and released the digital EP ‘Live for Burberry.’ BMG reissued her first four solo albums as Deluxe editions (2016). Her ninth studio album, ‘Other’ (2017), was supported by ‘The Other Tour’ world tour. She also featured as a guest artist on A-Ha’s acoustic album ‘MTV Unplugged – Summer Solstice’ (2017).

Moyet was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2021 Birthday Honours for services to music. She earned a Fine Art Printmaking degree from the University of Brighton in 2023. Most recently, Moyet released her album, ‘Key’ (2024), and launched the ’40 Moyet Moments’ podcast. She will embark on a world tour in support of ‘Key’ in 2025.
