Amber Run is a dynamic British indie rock band hailing from Nottingham, known for their emotive sound and compelling lyrics. Formed by Joshua Keogh, Tom Sperring, and Henry Wyeth, the band initially gained attention with their debut EP, “Noah,” released in February 2014. This was followed by two more EPs, “Spark” and “Pilot,” which showcased their evolving musical style and garnered a dedicated fanbase. Their early performances, including a notable appearance on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading Festival, helped them secure a record deal with RCA, marking a significant milestone in their career.
In April 2015, Amber Run released their debut album, “5am,” which featured the lead single “Just My Soul Responding.” The album received critical acclaim and established the band as a prominent force in the indie rock scene. Following the departure of drummer Felix Archer in 2016, the band continued to innovate, releasing their sophomore album, “For a Moment, I Was Lost,” in 2017. This album included hit singles like “Stranger” and “Perfect,” further solidifying their reputation for crafting poignant and relatable music.
Amber Run’s commitment to their craft is evident in their subsequent projects, including the 2019 album “Philophobia,” which showcased their growth as artists. They also released an unplugged EP in 2020, highlighting their versatility and ability to connect with audiences in an intimate setting.
In recent years, the band has embarked on an ambitious trilogy of mini-albums, starting with “The Search (Act I)” in 2021, followed by “The Start (Act II)” in 2022, and concluding with “The Hurt (Act III).” Their upcoming full-length album, “How to Be Human,” set for release in April 2023, promises to continue their legacy of heartfelt storytelling and musical excellence.
