Amigo The Devil

Danny Kiranos, known professionally as Amigo the Devil, was born on June 26, 1987, in Miami, Florida. Born to a Greek father and a Spanish mother, his early life was influenced by the traditional music of both cultures. At seventeen, Kiranos moved to California, initially pursuing horror filmmaking at the Los Angeles Film School, though he soon shifted to culinary school. He later established a career in the brewing industry. While residing in San Francisco, California, he began performing under the moniker Amigo the Devil. His early career saw him building a dedicated fanbase through energetic live performances. Kiranos’ music is characterized by its blend of neofolk, rock, and country, frequently exploring darker themes, earning his style the labels “Dark Folk” or “Murderfolk.”

Amigo the Devil’s discography includes several notable releases. His first album, “Volume 1,” released in 2018, was a compilation of his initial three EPs. This was followed by “Everything Is Fine” in October 2018. A significant career progression occurred in 2019 when the Mayor of Austin, Texas, Steve Adler, proclaimed November 16 as “Amigo the Devil Day,” recognizing his cultural impact. Further solidifying his presence in the music scene, Kiranos founded Liars Club Records in collaboration with Regime Music Group. In April 2021, he released “Born Against” under his new label, an album that gained critical acclaim from publications like Rolling Stone and American Songwriter. He continued his artistic output with the album “Yours Until The War Is Over,” released in February 2024.

Throughout his career, Amigo the Devil has been a consistent presence at various music festivals, showcasing his distinct musical style to a wide audience. His festival appearances include Muddy Roots Music Festival in 2019, 2023, and 2025, Aftershock in 2018 and 2022, Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival in 2019, Welcome to Rockville in 2019, 2021, and 2025, IMPACT Music Festival in 2019, Louder Than Life in 2019 and 2022, Riot Fest in 2021, Lunasea Beach Festival in 2022, Fairwell Festival in 2023, Hell and Heaven open air in 2023, Shamrock Rebellion in March 2024, Festival d’été de Québec and Mariposa Folk Festival in July 2024, 2000Trees in July 2024, Galway International Arts Festival in July 2024, and Bourbon and Beyond in September 2024. He is also scheduled to perform at Milwaukee Metal Fest, Punk Rock Bowling, and Blue Ox Music Festival in May and June 2025, and RBC Bluesfest in July 2025. These performances highlight his consistent engagement with the live music circuit and his ability to connect with diverse audiences.
