Amruta Fadnavis was born on April 9, 1979, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Her father, Sharad Ranade, was an ophthalmologist, and her mother, Charulata Ranade, was a gynaecologist. From an early age, she demonstrated a competitive spirit, excelling academically and participating in sports, including state-level tennis. She pursued her education at G.S. College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur, and later earned an MBA in finance and studied taxation laws at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Her early years were also shaped by involvement in social projects alongside her parents, including eye check-up camps for underserved communities.
Fadnavis began her professional banking career with Axis Bank as an Executive Cashier in 2003. She steadily progressed within the institution, eventually heading the Axis Bank business branch in Nagpur. In January 2015, she transitioned to the corporate office in Worli, Mumbai, where she currently holds the position of Vice-President in the Transaction Banking Department. Her career at Axis Bank has spanned over 17 years, demonstrating consistent professional engagement.
Beyond her banking profession, Amruta Fadnavis is a classically trained singer and an active social activist. She has lent her voice to several commercial and social films, including a debut playback for Prakash Jha’s ‘Jai Gangaajal’ in 2016 and a song in the biopic “Sangharsh Yatra.” Her music video “Phir Se,” featuring Amitabh Bachchan (2017), garnered significant attention.
