Angels & Airwaves burst onto the scene with their debut album, We Don’t Need to Whisper, released on May 23, 2006. The album swiftly achieved commercial success, reaching No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and earning gold certification in both the US and Canada the same year. Featuring popular singles such as ‘The Adventure,’ ‘The War,’ ‘Do It For Me Now,’ and ‘It Hurts,’ the band, initially comprised of Tom DeLonge (lead vocalist/guitarist), David Kennedy (guitar), Atom Willard (drums), and Ryan Sinn (bass), established a multimedia vision from its inception.
A significant milestone occurred in 2019 with a new record contract with Rise Records, followed by their first live show in seven years. In 2020, the band released the single ‘All That’s Left Is Love,’ donating all profits to Feeding America’s COVID-19 relief fund. Their most recent studio album, Lifeforms, released in 2021, continued to build their signature sound, featuring singles ‘Rebel Girl,’ ‘Kiss & Tell,’ and ‘Euphoria.’ Expanding their narrative universe, Angels & Airwaves announced the accompanying graphic novel Lifeform: Vivian in 2022. The band consistently explores innovative methods of fan engagement, including dedicated community subscriptions and ongoing graphic novel collaborations, reinforcing their commitment to a holistic artistic experience that extends beyond traditional music releases.
