Armor for Sleep, an American rock band hailing from Teaneck, New Jersey, has made significant strides in the music industry since their formation in 2001. Founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Jorgensen, the band quickly garnered attention for their unique blend of alternative rock, atmospheric emo, and dream pop. Their early work, including the concept albums “Dream to Make Believe” (2003) and “What to Do When You Are Dead” (2005), released under Equal Vision Records, showcased their innovative sound and lyrical depth, establishing them as a prominent force in the emo scene.
In 2006, Armor for Sleep signed with Sire Records and Warner Bros., marking a pivotal moment in their career. This transition allowed them to reach a broader audience, culminating in the release of their third studio album, “Smile for Them” (2007). The band continued to evolve, contributing tracks to notable soundtracks, including “Snakes on a Plane” and “Transformers,” which further solidified their presence in the mainstream music landscape.
After a hiatus and brief reunions for tours in 2012 and 2015, Armor for Sleep officially reunited in 2020, celebrating the 15th anniversary of their acclaimed album. Their return was marked by the release of “The Rain Museum” in September 2022, demonstrating their enduring creativity and relevance in the music industry.
Continuing to engage with fans, Armor for Sleep has embarked on various tours, including a 20th-anniversary celebration of their debut album in 2023. With a lineup that includes Jorgensen, guitarist Erik Rudic, bassist Chad Sabo, and drummer Nash Breen, the band remains committed to delivering powerful performances and new music, ensuring their legacy in the rock genre continues to thrive.
